Register now for the Ogden Clinic 5K and one-mile run/walk
Ogden, Utah - April 15, 2010
- Ogden Clinic is partnering with Shadow Valley
Elementary to host the second annual 5K and one-mile run on May 1, 2010 to benefit the school's educational programs. The top male and female finisher
will receive a pair of free running shoes; all participants will be entered into a free prize drawing. All proceeds will be donated to the school.
The money raised during the event will benefit current and future Shadow Valley Elementary students. The funds will help provide science supplies and
equipment for the school's Environmental Science Studies program.
"The ShadowValley and Ogden Clinic 5K is a great event that builds community spirit and assists the school in continuing to provide an excellent
instructional program. Students, community members, families, and school staff members all enjoy the event and are looking forward to this year's
event," said Leanne A. Rich, principal at Shadow Valley Elementary.
The 5K race will begin at ShadowValleyElementary School, 4911 S. 1500 E. in Ogden. The mostly down-hill course will start at 8 a.m. and the one-mile at
8:15 a.m. The course map is available online at www.runwalkjog.com/SVE. The race will be timed by Runner
Card. Participants are encouraged to register early online or print a registration form and mail (or drop it off) to ShadowValleyElementary School.
Participants can sign up the day of the event.
The regular 5K registration costs are $15 and $10 for elementary-age students ending April 26. Late registration after April 26 is $20 and $15 for
elementary-age students. The cost for the one-mile run/walk is $15 with a shirt and $10 without.
Following the race, an awards ceremony and a health fair will take place at approximately 9 a.m. The overall male and female winners will receive a
free pair of running shoes from Peak Performance. The race results will be separated into different ages and divisions. First, second and third places
in each category will be recognized and receive an award.
***Parking is limited at ShadowValleyElementary School. Ogden Clinic event organizers suggest parking on the south side of the DeeEventCenter parking
lot which is close to the Ogden Clinic finish area.
