Procedure - Dermatologic Surgery

Patients who have been diagnosed with skin cancer, have lumps that need removal, or need to manage their skin disease, turn to the dermatologists at Ogden Clinic. Our specialists are experts in the field of dermatologic surgery, and would be happy to address your concerns at a consultation in Utah. Dermatologic surgery includes the management of many different kinds of skin conditions including:

Skin Disease Management: With all the advances in laser technology, dermatologists at Ogden Clinic can now help patients manage their skin diseases. Some of our dermatologic surgery options treat patients with severe cases of acne, rosacea, or psoriasis. Rosacea is a skin condition that causes visible, reddened blood vessels on your face. Psoriasis is another kind of skin condition which causes an increased development of skin cells on the face. These cells eventually accumulate into scaly and red patches that are itchy and painful.

Skin Cancer Treatment: At Ogden Clinic, our dermatologists are authorities in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. They perform dermatologic surgeries to biopsy and remove tumors and moles that are malignant, as well as treat pre-cancerous growths. By using technology advances, our Utah dermatologists can detect skin cancer in its earliest stages.

Skin Growth Removal: Aside from removing malignant growths, moles, and tumors, the dermatologists at Ogden Clinic also specialize in the removal of benign skin growths. Some of these growths include:

  • Lipomas: These growths are fatty lumps that generally develop between the skin and underlying muscle. They grow very slowly, are not cancerous, and very rarely cause problems aside from discomfort.
  • Sebaceous Cysts: These bumps develop beneath the skin. They are small and non-cancerous growths, and occur as a result of blocked oil-producing glands in the skin. These type of cysts are commonly found on the torso, face, or neck and only require removal when they become a nuisance or infected.
  • Lesions: Lesions occur when tissue or an organ is damaged from an injury or disease. Lesions are either benign or malignant depending on whether they were caused by cancer or not. While benign lesions are not harmful to you, you may choose to have them removed due to irritation.

If you have a growth on your skin that seems abnormal, contact one of the specialists at Ogden Clinic to learn more about our dermatologic surgery options in Utah.
