Education and Background
Dr. Ahlstrom graduated from Utah State University and received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1991 where he served as Junior Class President. He was selected to complete his four-year specialty training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago. His comprehensive training program included care for routine and high-risk pregnancies as well as all aspects of gynecological care including: laparoscopic, laser, and conventional surgical techniques, including innovative evaluation and treatment.
Dr. Ahlstrom was raised in northern California and Logan, Utah. He is currently a Lt. Colonel in the Utah Air National Guard and has completed tours of duty in Japan and England, serving as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Ahlstrom has also served in medical humanitarian exercises in several villages of Mozambique and Morocco. He and his wife Nanette are the parents of three children and enjoy skiing, hiking, swimming, and travel.
