Education and Background
Dr. Okawa has been practicing medicine for over ten years. She is a Utah native, completing a Bachelor’s Degree (graduating Magna Cum Laude) in Material Science and Engineering, and a Doctor of Medicine diploma - both from the University of Utah. Dr. Okawa continued with her internship and residency training in General Surgery at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, then Plastic Surgery at University of California, Irvine, and a Hand Surgery Fellowship at University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Okawa furthered her certifications in Laparoscopic, Laser and Microsurgery Surgery in Arizona and California. Dr. Okawa is a well published physician on various research topics and has presented several resident lectures on surgical and plastic surgery topics.
Dr. Okawa enjoys the fine arts and spending time with her husband and son.
