Education and Background
Dr. Simmons served a mission in Germany for two years, then earned his bachelors degree from Brigham Young University, and then his Medical Degree from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He did his internship and family practice residency at Florida Hospital East, Orlando. Dr. Simmons received a National Health Scholarship and served for three years in Fallbrook, California at a community clinic. He spent five years in Morristown, Tennessee in private practice before deciding to join the Ogden Clinic. Dr. Simmons and his wife Stephanie have five wonderful children. His oldest child has disabilities which has lead him to specialize in working with those who have physical and mental disabilities. He served on the Board of Directors for the Arc of Hamblen County, Tennessee, a National non-profit organization serving citizens with mental, physical and emotional disabilities.
He enjoys basketball, golf, swimming, and many outdoor activities.
