Education and Background
Ms. Vastardis and her husband live in Fruit Heights, and have two adult sons. She enjoys gardening, reading, photography, going for walks, and visits with her family. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including Hospitals, Public Health departments, Home Health Agencies, Family Planning Clinics, and as a Nursing Instructor. She has provided Primary Care in family practice clinics since 1992, and joined the Canyon View Clinic Family Practice in 1999. She is a member of the national and local CHADD organization, Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder and volunteers as an attention deficit disorder educator. She serves on the Ogden Head Start Advisory Committee. In the past she has also been volunteered in the Boy Scouts of America, youth sports programs, community health planning, and the American Red Cross. Karen is a member of the Utah Nurse Practitioners organization and other national Nurse Practitioner groups.
Ms. Vastardis completed her training at Boise State University and Westminster College, where she was inducted into the Nursing honor society Sigma Theta Tau. She has had extensive experience in providing healthcare for all ages, and enjoys working with families. She has provided Acute and Preventive healthcare, including physical exams, women’s and pediatric care. She also cares for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, COPD, depression, and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder.
