The Ogden Clinic Professional Corporation announced today plans for their newest medical clinic located along the North Ogden Corridor (2700 North and Highway 89).
The Mountain View Clinic will offer medical services to the communities in Weber and Box Elder counties, including Pleasant View, Farr West, North Ogden, Harrisville, Plain City, and Brigham City.
Construction on the 11,000 square foot building is set to begin January 2007. The new medical clinic will offer Family Practice, Pediatrics, an Occupational Health Program and Physical Therapy Services. There will also be in-house Laboratory, X-ray and Pharmacy services.
Dr. Van Christensen, Laura Colvin PA-C and Michelle Wasden PA-C will be heading up the Family Practice Department. Dr. Cheryl Henley will run the Occupational Health Program, and Naomi Harris will begin Physical Therapy Services for the clinic. The Ogden Clinic is currently recruiting a Pediatrician for the facility.
The Mountain View Clinic is scheduled to open in late summer of 2007.
Ground Breaking Ceremonies are scheduled for Wednesday, January 17th @ 12:30pm; the public is welcome to attend the ceremonies.
PLEASANT VIEW -- Plans are under way by Ogden Clinic to build an 11,000-square-foot medical facility to be completed by September of this year.
Construction will begin Jan. 17 on the new Mountain View Clinic, 2700 North Highway 89, said Ray Brock, director of marketing and corporate development at Ogden Clinic.
Medical services at the facility will include family practice physicians, pediatrics, an occupational medicine program and physical therapy services, said Brock. The site will also have an in-house laboratory, X-ray capability and a pharmacy.
Tentatively, the facility will rotate medical specialists into the site once a week, such as dermatology, orthopedics and ENT.
According to demographics and surveys conducted by the Ogden Clinic, there are many patients who travel from Box Elder County and north Weber to the clinics in Ogden and Roy for care.
"It'll be great for the mother who has to pack three children in her car to see a physician," Brock said. "Now she won't have to drive half-an-hour."
The new facility is expected to cost about $3.5 million and will be built on three acres, Brock said, leaving room for a 20,000-square-foot expansion, as demand increases.
He said 300 to 500 new homes are expected to be built within a two-mile radius of the new clinic throughout the next two years, due to a new Trax station being built in Pleasant View.
Six doctors will begin working at the new facility, treating about 2,000 patients per month, Brock said.
Dr. Van Christiansen, a Pleasant View resident who currently practices at Canyon View Clinic and will be lead physician at the clinic, said many of his patients live in northern Weber and Box Elder counties.
"I get told five to six times a day from patients, 'Are you moving out there, because I'm sure looking forward to it,' " he said.
The facility, when fully staffed, will result in the addition of 15 new jobs.
"Most families are two-income, so it is tough to get away from work to go to the doctor," Brock said. "They'll have the facility right there in their community and will get taken care of without taking too much time out of their day."
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Jan. 17.
