Diffuse Redness

Rosacea, sometimes referred to as "adult acne," is a common skin disease that causes redness and swelling on the face. It can begin as a tendency to flush, and may develop into persistent redness in the centre of the face, the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose. As the disease progresses, small blood vessels and pimples begin to appear on and around the reddened area.

People most likely to develop rosacea are fair skinned adults, especially women. Rosacea usually develops over a long period. It may first appear as a tendency to blush easily, a ruddy completion, or an extreme sensitivity to cosmetics.
