Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair the skin, by gently removing the top layers of damaged skin. Years of exposure to the sun’s harmful UV rays can wreak havoc on your skin. The aesthetician uses a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation.
Microdermabrasion is very safe, effective for all skin types and skin tones and is one of the most exciting and sought after medical cosmetic procedures today.
This treatment which promotes healthy skin within a matter of weeks can treat:
How does it work?
The skin is treated to a deep, mechanical exfoliation that gently resurfaces the outer layers of the skin, removing damaged cells and stimulating the skin's natural cell regenerating process. This in turn promotes the development of healthy cells, collagen and elastin, followed by lymphatic drainage and oxygenation of the treated area. The result is a healthy, natural, smooth and youthful skin.
How many treatments are required?
On the average, each treatment lasts for about one hour and a minimum of six treatments, at one per week, is recommended for optimal results. There are no long-term side effects other than a glowing, healthy complexion. Like many of our procedures, patients may have a microdermabrasion treatment and return immediately to work with minimal down time. We recommend one treatment per week.
How soon will I see results?
After your first treatment, your skin will have a fresh pink glow and smoother texture. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.
