Utah's Rising Stars Honored at Forty Under 40 Event - Ogden Clinic provided source, Utah Magazine 2/18/2014

(Utah Business) SALT LAKE CITY — When it comes to being young, talented and successful, Utah Business’ 2014 Forty Under 40 honorees fit the bill to a T. These 40 up-and-comers in the business world were honored Thursday at the 12th annual Utah Business Forty Under 40 awards luncheon.

Each of these honorees has experienced monumental success, all before the age of 40. They come from numerous industries, including technology, healthcare, non-profit organizations, finance and government.

Jacob Tippets, executive director and founder of CoLegacy, discussed some of the challenges he’s had in his career and how his drive has helped him to succeed.

“I was born an entrepreneur,” he said. “I was born with the drive to be doing something. I’ve just got that drive in me that just tells me to get up and go. I’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish what I want. The sky’s the limit.”

Rudy Larsen, owner of The Lawn Butler, Smart Rain and Rubicon Contractors, said if he could offer an entrepreneur any advice, it would be to never quit.

“It’s hard. Don’t quit, because you’re going to think you’re down and out and you’ve got nothing more to give and you need to quit,” he said. “The difference between people who make it and those who don’t are the people who just keep pushing.”
