Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a disorder characterized by extreme fatigue or exhaustion. This fatigue does not go away with sleep and cannot always be explained by an underlying medical condition, though chronic fatigue has been linked to and metabolic syndrome.

Whitney Woodruff grew up in West Jordan, Utah, and received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Utah. Her graduate project and thesis focused on "Early Sepsis Intervention & Education with EMS Teams." This education project helped decreased mortality rates of patients diagnosed with sepsis. Her project was chosen as one of the top projects of her graduating class.
Whitney spent 16 months prior to her undergraduate degree living in France & Belgium, learning the French language. In addition to her love for medicine and working as a nurse practitioner she enjoys being involved in the community, coaching and working with adolescent athletes, teaching, spending time with her family, traveling, boating, hiking, running, and playing sports. She is actively involved in church and civic groups, including youth activities and sports programs.
