Jonathan Weeks, MD

About

Jonathan Weeks grew up in Utah County. He was an artist in high school and majored in psychology in college. He attended medical school at the University of Iowa, then returned home to Utah to continue training. His favorite part of residency was working in rural emergency rooms such as in Moab, where he could go ride the trails between shifts, then go back to work and attend to those who were not as lucky to make it down unscathed.

He has been practicing in Layton since 2003. He enjoys the variety involved in Family Medicine, but especially enjoys pediatric and adolescent medicine, urgent care, sports medicine, and mental health (anxiety, depression, ADD). He uses a patient-centered care model where patients are educated and treated as partners in decision making with treatment based not only from the clinical perspective, but also from an emotional, mental, spiritual, social, and financial perspective.

He enjoys traveling and has been involved with humanitarian efforts servicing with a medical group to the Amazon (Iquitos, Peru). He later returned to Lima, Peru, with a youth group that helped construct a children’s hospital.

When he is not in the office, he loves spending time with his wife and five kids. He has a passion for personal fitness and continues to fine tune his game of old-man basketball. He coaches his sons’ rec basketball teams and spends way too much time coaching his son’s comp baseball team.
