David Cope was born in Chicago but raised in Las Vegas, NV. He studied and graduated from Weber State College, with a two-year hiatus serving an LDS mission to South Africa. He still speaks Afrikaans.
As a Family Physician at Ogden Clinic, Dr. Cope has great interest in women’s health including routine obstetrics, as well as pediatrics.
He has been active in boy scouting and volunteering as a physician for three decades at Philmont Scout Ranch. Dr. Cope and his wife Laurie have five grown children. Backpacking, camping, hiking, and skiing are among his favorite hobbies in his free time.
This dangerous cancer can be prevented, and Dr. Cope advises all women under age 26 to protect themselves with an HPV vaccine.
When family doctors have the opportunity to treat the whole individual—and see multiple generations, they are able to create a strong medical history and keep an eye out for inheritable conditions. Dr. Cope talks about his passion for family medicine.
