About
David Cope was born in Chicago but raised in Las Vegas, NV. He studied and graduated from Weber State College, with a two-year hiatus serving an LDS mission to South Africa. He still speaks Afrikaans.
He has been active in boy scouting and volunteering as a physician for three decades at Philmont Scout Ranch. Dr. Cope and his wife Laurie have five grown children. Backpacking, camping, hiking, and skiing are among his favorite hobbies in his free time.
