Ask Your PCP About Behavioral Health Sessions

Ask Your PCP About Behavioral Health Sessions

There's a big piece of healthcare that's missing from many clinical models: Mental Health. More than one in five US adults lives with a mental illness and that number is higher among youth according to The Center of Disease Control.

Mental health disorders are often precursors to poor physical health or can coincide with other physical illnesses. That's why Ogden Clinic is proud to partner with evolvedMD, a group of Behavioral Health Managers that now work inside each of our Family Medicine clinics. Learn more about our partnership with evolvedMD and how to seek in-network therapy if your or a loved one are in need.

Patients must have a primary care provider (PCP) to use evolvedMD mental and behavioral health counseling.Your PCP will refer you to an evolvedMD behavioral health manager who works in their same clinic. Providers work together to care for you comprehensively.Patients are billed through their insurance and only pay their PCP copay for behavioral health sessions. evolvedMD takes all insurances accepted by Ogden Clinic.

What can an evolvedMD provider help with?

Common reasons that patients are referred to EvolvedMD are:

  • Anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias
  • Depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Psychotic disorders including schizophrenia

Does my insurance cover behavioral health sessions?

The cost of services is similar to a typical doctor visit with your insurance. For example, if you normally pay a $35 copay each time you see your PCP, you will pay the same copay each time you see a Behavioral Health Manager. Of course, we advise you to contact your insurance carrier and/or evolvedMD for payment details ahead of time.

Where to evolvedMD providers practice?

Nearly all of our Family Medicine (Primary Care) clinics have an in-house Behavioral Health Manager. Learn more about each of them and where they practice here.

How do I schedule therapy?

Our behavioral health model begins with your primary care provider. If you have not yet established care with a family medicine provider, that is the perfect starting place. Ask your PCP about evolvedMD and they will coordinate with our evolvedMD team to set up a behavioral health assessment and ongoing visits for your situation.
