David Allen, MD

About

Dr. Allen practices general medical, complex medical and surgical dermatology and sees patients of all ages. He is a native of Ogden, UT and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Weber State University. He obtained his MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed his internship at St. Luke’s Medical Center/University of Wisconsin. He then returned to the Medical College of Wisconsin where he completed his dermatology residency. He also has a clinical adjunct appointment with the University of Utah Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Allen is certified by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). He is active in the medical community having served as President of the Utah Dermatology Society, and as President of the Ogden Surgical Medical Society. He has volunteered with the American Board of Dermatology since 2012, serving on the General Dermatology and Surgical Dermatology content development committees. In 2021 he was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors on the American Board of Dermatology for a 9 year term. He currently chairs the Cosmetic Dermatology Committee of the ABD.

In 2017 he was appointed to the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology where he continues to serve today. In his free time, Dr. Allen enjoys playing tennis, hiking, camping, snow and waterskiing. He and his wife, Janine, have 5 children. Dr. Allen is fluent in Spanish and works closely with the hispanic community on a variety of humanitarian projects.
