Dr. Isabel Cristina Lau is a dedicated pediatrician with over 17 years of experience caring for children of all ages and chronic conditions, currently practicing out of Ogden Pediatrics. Dr. Lau studied at Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia, where she received her undergraduate and her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Lau then completed her Pediatric Residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta. Georgia. Deeply involved in her community, Dr. Lau served as the Northern Utah representative for the American Academy of Pediatrics Utah Chapter from 2015-18.
Her personal experiences as a mother to a child with autism and another with congenital heart disease have shaped her passion for supporting patients with complex needs. She also has a strong clinical interest in adolescent care and pediatric mental health. Dr. Lau prioritizes making children feel safe and comfortable during visits. She and her team use thoughtful techniques to reduce anxiety and pain, such as offering stuffed animals or using cold spray during immunizations. Easing fear and building trust are central to her approach.
A native Spanish speaker, Dr. Lau is proud to provide care for Spanish-speaking families.
In her spare time, Dr. Lau loves playing tennis, traveling, seeing beautiful landscapes, having fun conversations that make her laugh, and going to the movies with her friends and family.
