About
Dr. Jared Martin is an OBGYN practicing at the Women's Center at Layton Hospital. He originally planned on becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon because he’s always loved the idea of “fixing things.” After shadowing a surgeon, though, he realized that path wasn’t quite what he expected. A chance to work with an OB/GYN changed everything. He enjoyed the hands-on procedures and was honored when patients invited him to their deliveries, which showed him how meaningful this field could be.
Dr. Martin focuses on helping each patient feel informed and confident about their care. He takes time to explain options and guide patients toward choices that fit their needs. His favorite part of his job is hearing that a patient feels better after a procedure or that they had a great birth experience.
Dr. Martin aims for a positive, family-centered birth. He supports VBAC, unmedicated deliveries, and enjoys working with doulas. He also encourages delayed cord clamping and immediate skin-to-skin time. Above all, he’s patient and committed to helping parents reach their birth goals while keeping both mom and baby safe.
Outside of work, Dr. Martin loves spending time with his family. You’ll often find him outdoors—camping, hiking, fishing, or riding ATVs. He’s also into sports and likes driving RC cars with his kids.
