Procedures / Treatments

  • Cholesterol Management A treatment plan designed by a healthcare provider to lower a patient’s cholesterol level. A plan includes recommendations for improved lifestyle, diet, weight, and physical activity. Other risk factors are also assessed that can affect a patient’s cholesterol level. In some cases, cholesterol-lowering medications may also provide additional benefit to managing a healthy cholesterol level. Cholesterol management also involves decreasing the LDL cholesterol (“bad” cholesterol) and making sure HDL (“good” cholesterol) is at recommended levels. Patients and healthcare professionals work together to help improve and maintain heart health and reduce the risk for cardiovascular disease and stroke.
  • Chronic Fatigue

Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) is a disorder characterized by extreme fatigue or exhaustion. This fatigue does not go away with sleep and cannot always be explained by an underlying medical condition, though chronic fatigue has been linked to and metabolic syndrome.

  • Congestive Heart Failure Congestive heart failure occurs when the heart does not pump enough oxygen to meet the body’s needs. When the heart’s pumping power decreases it can cause fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling, and other symptoms. Experts at Ogden Clinic are trained to diagnose and manage congestive heart failure.
  • Depression Depression is a common but serious mood disorder that can affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities. Depression often manifests as a persistent sad, anxious, or “empty” mood. Left untreated, it can adversely affect your eating and sleeping habits, as well as your relationships and your ability to work.
  • Diabetes Treatments related to diabetes and how the body handles blood sugar.
  • Diabetes Education Third party training and support for a patient's diabetes self-management and overall health.
  • Fatty Liver Fatty liver occurs when excess fat builds up in liver cells. Fatty liver is a relatively common condition, affecting nearly 25% of people globally.
  • High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) High blood pressure is another word for the condition. Blood pressure measures the force against artery walls as the heart pumps blood through the body.
  • Hormone Replacement Men and women both experience natural fluctuations in hormone levels throughout life, but as you age, those fluctuations become sharper and more severe. During andropause and menopause, hormone levels drop significantly. This can lead to a series of health consequences, including disturbed mental well-being, trouble sleeping, loss of energy, reduced sex drive, fatigue and more.
  • Infertility The inability of a couple to reproduce by natural means which may be treated by medical intervention.
  • Insulin Resistance Insulin resistance is the name given when the body’s cells don’t respond properly to the hormone insulin. Insulin resistance is the driving factor leading to type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.
  • Medical Weight Loss A decrease in body weight/mass resulting from voluntary (diet, exercise) or involuntary (illness) circumstances. Medical weight loss is monitored by a specialist trained in Obesity Medicine.
  • Metabolic Syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is not a disease in itself but a combination of risk factors that include:

    • High blood pressure
    • High blood sugar
    • Unhealthy cholesterol levels
    • Excess abdominal fat
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition that causes them to develop male body characteristics and potentially become overweight. Women with polycystic ovary syndrome may have infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods and have an excess of male hormone (androgen) levels.
  • Post-Bariatric Weight Management It’s not easy to maintain a healthy weight after bariatric surgery. Our weight loss experts help patients keep the weight off and establish healthy habits.
  • Skin Tags Skin tags are a relatively common annoyance, usually presenting themselves on the head and neck area. It is unclear how or why skin tags develop, but they become more and more common as we age – 60% of people 70 years or older have multiple skin tags at any given time.
  • Sleep Apnea Sleep apnea treatment addresses a sleep disorder that occurs when a person's breathing is interrupted during sleep.
  • Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Urinary tract infections occur when bacteria, usually from the skin or rectum, enter the urethra and infect the urinary tract.
  • Weight Loss for Osteoarthritis Extra weight puts pressure on joints while extra body fat increases inflammation associated with osteoarthritis. A medical weight loss specialist can help patients control weight to their improve symptoms.
  • Well Child Checkups The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) developed a set of comprehensive health guidelines for well-child care that are conducted during well child checkups. These routine visits include growth and development monitoring, preventative care, and vaccinations if needed.
