Procedures / Treatments

  • Ear Infection Ear tube surgery is a very common procedure at Ogden Clinic (often lasting less than ten minutes) in which pressure equalization tubes are inserted into the eardrum to help ventilate and equalize the pressure in the middle ear.
  • FEES Also known as a fiber optic endoscopic evaluation is a procedure designed to assess swallowing functions and disorders.
  • Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia) Feeding or swallowing difficulties can follow an illness, surgery, stroke, or injury. Swallowing disorders may occur in the oral phase, pharyngeal phase (swallowing reflex), or in the esophagus.
  • Voice Disorders Vocal cord damage can be caused by frequent singing, coughing, smoking, acid reflux, and more. Treatment for voice disorders depends on the cause and may include a combination or antibiotic or steroidal medication and voice therapy.
  • Voice Disorders (VLS) Also known as a video laryngeal stroboscopy is a test that allows observation of how the vocal cords move. Abnormal vocal cord movement/vibration is a contributor to voice disorders.

Megan spent most of her life studying the voice. She initially studied singing, participating in private voice lessons, singing in choirs and as a soloist, as well as obtaining a music degree with emphasis on the singing voice. Over the last four years, Megan has gained specialty skills and knowledge in the area of voice disorders and has put them into practice. As a speech pathologist, she loves helping and educating singers, public speakers, and anyone who is having voice difficulties.

When she’s not treating voice disorders at Ogden Clinic, Megan enjoys singing and is a current member of the Utah Chamber Artists choral ensemble in Salt Lake City. She also loves exploring all the Utah terrain has to offer through hiking and camping with her fiancé, Greg.
