Prenatal Care FAQS

What can I expect during my prenatal checkups?

Prenatal care begins around eight weeks into pregnancy. At the first prenatal visit, your Ogden Clinic obstetric specialist will review your history, answer your pressing questions, and discuss expectations for your prenatal care. Your first and second trimesters usually consist of monthly visits. Visits in your third trimester will become more frequent and additional visits may be necessary to address problems or complications that may arise.

Ogden Clinic’s comprehensive prenatal care includes ultrasound services which take place in our office. The studies are read by a trained obstetric physician who is certified to read ultrasounds.

What if my doctor is unavailable when I’m ready to deliver?

Ogden Clinic has partnered with both McKay-Dee Hospital and Ogden Regional Medical Center to develop and implement Laborist Programs. Our patients are ensured access to Obstetric physician coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our physician staff of board-certified or board-eligible specialists are committed to current, evidence-based practice protocols.

These experts are physically located at the hospital around the clock. The Laborist is committed to increasing quality outcomes and delivering quality healthcare. Ogden Clinic’s Women’s Center Providers work with exceptional nurses, high-risk specialists and maternity teams to provide the innovative obstetric care you have come to expect from us.
