Virtual Visits Are Here: Telemedicine at Ogden Clinic

Do you have an upcoming appointment at Ogden Clinic? Your next visit might be possible using the video chat feature of your smartphone, tablet, or laptop!

Introducing Ogden Clinic Telemedicine: Patients can now have medical visits with a board-certified healthcare professional without ever leaving home. Have peace of mind knowing your provider can still assess illnesses and injuries, provide medical guidance, and order medication for many types of ailments—all without the need to step foot inside a clinic.

Types of Visits That Are Possible Via Telemedicine:

Telecare is useful for Urgent Care concerns such as flu or cold (including COVID-19 screening), stomach pain, nausea, bumps and bruises, and infections.

Several of our specialists are also utilizing Telecare for certain types of visits. Currently, Telecare-enabled specialties include Neurology, Medical Weight Loss, and Dermatology, and we expect our breadth of services to continue to grow.

  • Illness: Cold, flu, coughing, fever, runny nose, congestion, sinus infection, upset stomach, nausea, headaches, eye infection or irritation, yeast infection, urinary tract infection, sexually transmitted diseases
  • Injuries: Minor cuts or scrapes, neck or back pain, sprains or bruises, concussion analysis
  • Skin: Rashes, hives, dry skin or eczema, acne, poison ivy or oak, athletes’ foot
  • Preventative care: Some prenatal visits, some well-child check-ups, some annual or sports physicals

Keep in mind, this list is not all-inclusive; if you have questions about a condition, please give us a call to determine if a Telecare visit is suitable for you.

What is the price of a Telemedicine visit?

Virtual visits run just like an appointment inside one of our clinics. You will be charged the same copay for an urgent care visit or a specialist visit depending on which type of service is needed. Check with your insurance provider to review your copay or inquire about Telecare coverage.

Can my provider call in prescriptions from a Telemedicine appointment?

During your Telecare visit, your provider can prescribe many medications for you and will send your prescription(s) to the pharmacy of your choice. However, your provider may not be able to prescribe controlled substances and pain medication.

NOTE: Please do not use Telecare solely for prescription refills. Refills can be handled using Ogden Clinic’s Patient Portal or by calling 801-475-3000.
